据Albert Victor Sing回忆，当时，Herbert的名字被列入了授予“杰出行为勋章”(Distinguished Conduct Medal)的推荐名单。然而，由于之后相关档案的缺失，他的家属最终未能收到这枚勋章，他的英勇也从此再未被官方文献所提及。
